E-E-A-T

Also known as: EEAT, E-A-T

Google's quality evaluation framework: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness.

Full Definition

E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. It is Google's framework for evaluating the quality of web content, codified in Google's Search Quality Evaluator Guidelines. For healthcare content, E-E-A-T standards are applied with particular rigor because health information falls into Google's 'Your Money or Your Life' (YMYL) category, meaning poor-quality information can have serious real-world consequences. Healthcare organizations that demonstrate E-E-A-T through credentialed authors, institutional affiliation, accurate and well-sourced content, and positive reputation signals are evaluated favorably by both Google's ranking systems and increasingly by AI search platforms that use similar quality frameworks.
